Plain and simple: You Have No Hands-on Experience. One of the top reasons in-person personal training education benefits a student, is the daily contact and interaction with degreed instructors. Two-way verbal and nonverbal communication is extremely important in the learning process. Face to face instructors understand the learning styles of their students with facial expressions, body language and tone of voice.
They physically demonstrate, observe, and evaluate the comprehension of each knowledge segment. If the instructor believes a student is struggling with a concept, they will break it down, reteach it, and confirm comprehension before moving forward. Online does not offer the instructor any interaction. In an in-person learning environment, you can apply the classroom college curriculum in a real gym. Demonstrating and evaluating proper form, program development and client interaction simulated with your fellow classmates.

All of these gym activities are closely monitored by a Practical Instructor developing and honing skills, so graduates feel comfortable taking clients immediately upon graduation. Online education or self-guided students just cannot provide the one-on-one personalized training required for success. Personal Training is a rewarding but serious career choice; not advisable to be obtained quick, easy, or on-line.
